Using Metamask

Connecting using MetaMask is one of the easiest methods to get started on DeversiFi. This is due to its ease of use and securit meaning your private key is never exposed to websites you connect with.

What is Metamask?

Metamask is an Ethereum-based wallet that runs from within your web browser, allowing you to store and manage your wallet keys directly from your own device without having to entrust a third-party provider.

1. Setting up MetaMask

After installing the MetaMask extension from either your browser store (e.g. Chrome store) or the official MetaMask website www.metamask.io you will see their icon appear in your browser’s extensions bar.

To get started, simply click this icon and follow the step by step instructions to set up a new MetaMask identity (wallet). At this stage it is paramount to ensure you have adequately written down or otherwise recorded your secret recovery seed-phrase and stored it somewhere safe.

Once done, you will be able to easily deposit funds to your new address, connect to DeversiFi, and begin your trustless trading experience.

2. Connecting to DeversiFi

If you have successfully installed MetaMask, connecting it to the portal should be as easy as clicking a button. Simply head to app.deversifi.com, click connect via Metamask and follow the step by step instructions.

If you are receiving the ‘MetaMask Locked’ error, please double check you have entered your password into MetaMask before attempting to connect your wallet.

3. Trading with Metamask

We've made trading on DeversiFi as intuitive and natural as possible and using Metamask is one of the easiest ways to submit an order and make a trade.

The main difference when trading trustlessly is that you will need to confirm transactions and sign messages directly from your Metamask browser extension. This is an easy process and Metamask will prompt you, whenever a confirmation is needed.
